Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. Valentina is her younger sister, and also a UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko was the first to start combat sports in the form of an Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals via a majority verdict. Antonina was able to follow it up, and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008 and a gold award in 2011 and the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia launched her professional career back in 2003. She has taken home numerous awards, such as the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Champion, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships and WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina was last seen fighting Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at her fight at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina Schevchenko started the professional phase of her MMA professional career back in the year 2002 with a win over Anara Baanova, during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won this fight by TKO after round two and her following two matches were staged during the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko had a brief absence from MMA and focused on her kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko was able to defeat Anissa by a majority vote and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in the year 2017. She was a part of the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following the departure of the league. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's formidable strike abilities enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win via unanimous decision but lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina recovered from the loss to beat Lucie Pudilova via rear-naked choking submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko went 1-2 over the next three fights beating Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Chookagian, and Andrea Lee. Antonina is currently being knocked out by Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
