Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label debuted her first EP titled Pho in October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the internet including her independently release single Bound. On 21st of July 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to use it together with Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed to Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was a track was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21, 2016, her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. Then, in November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she dropped No One and Pedigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019 for her debut album of the same name. On February 20, 2019 a music video was released to promote the song. It has already received more than three million views on YouTube within its initial week. In support of the track she performed together with 6LACK during December 2018 on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
